When you request a ride using Moeride’s software, the estimated fare is based on several factors that are initially known to us. However, as your trip progresses, unforeseen circumstances can arise that affect the final cost of your ride. Here’s why the actual fare might be different from the estimated fare:
- Traffic jams and road conditions: As you travel, unexpected traffic congestion or road closures can slow down your journey, increasing the distance traveled and thus the total fare.
- Detours or changes in route: If you request a detour or change your destination mid-trip, this will affect the original estimated fare. Our algorithm recalculates the fare based on the new route and distance traveled.
- Pickups or stops along the way: If you need to stop at a specific location during your trip (e.g., to pick up an item), this can add extra time and distance to your journey, resulting in a higher final fare.
The actual ride fare is calculated by combining several components:
- Base fare: This is the standard rate for a ride of a certain distance or duration.
- Time-based charge: The total minutes spent traveling are multiplied by a rate per minute, which contributes to the overall fare.
- Distance-based charge: The total miles traveled are multiplied by a rate per mile, adding to the final fare.
- Toll fees: If your trip includes toll roads or bridges, these fees will be added to the total fare.
- Service fees: Our company may charge additional service fees for things like real-time tracking, customer support, and other services.
These components are combined to provide you with a final ride fare that reflects the actual cost of your journey.
