Upon initiating a ride request, users are presented with a list of available drivers who have been determined to be the closest match based on their current location. This list includes approximate cost information for each driver’s fare. Users can then sort this list by the cheapest fare and select the desired driver from the resulting ranking.
In addition to reviewing the estimated cost of the ride, users are also provided with detailed information about each driver, including:
- Vehicle details (year, model, type)
- Information regarding the presence or absence of a car seat installation
- Indications of whether the driver’s vehicle is service animal friendly
Once a user has selected their preferred driver and reviewed their relevant information, they can confirm the ride request. Upon agreement from the driver, they will arrive to pick up the user at a designated location, transporting them safely and efficiently to their chosen destination.
How Moeride works – 6 things you need to know as a rider
1. What is Ridesharing?
- Moeride matches you with a nearby driver who will pick you up and take you where you want to go.
- By using Moeride, you can help reduce traffic and take cars off the road in your community.
2. How Long Does it Take to Get a Moeride Ride?
- After just a few taps in the Moeride app, a driver will be on their way to pick you up.
- You’ll see a photo of your driver and the car, as well as their estimated time of arrival (ETA).
- You can even watch as they approach on a map and call your driver if something changes, like if it starts to rain.
3. Do I Have to Sit Up Front or Can I Chill in the Back?
- It’s your ride, so you can set the tone depending on how you feel.
- If you want to hop in the backseat, put on your headphones, and not say a word, that’s okay.
- You can also ride shotgun and ask your Moeride driver for advice about the date you’re about to go on.
4. How Much Does a Moeride Cost?
- The cost depends on where you’re headed and when.
- There is a base charge and a cost per mile and per minute.
- There may be an additional Long Distance Pickup charge if your driver is further than 3 miles away.
- Any traffic jams or detours will add to the final fare, as will toll fees if applicable.
- Payment happens seamlessly through the app.
5. Can I Tip My Driver?
- Yes! You can tip your driver when you pay at the end of the ride.
- The whole total tip goes directly to the driver (100%).
- Don’t feel obligated to tip if you don’t want to or can’t afford it.
6. What’s the Rating System for Drivers and Passengers?
- When your ride ends, you can rate your driver on a scale of 1-10 stars.
- You can also write a comment, which is shared anonymously with the driver.
- If you’re satisfied with your ride, give your driver a 5-star rating. Reserve lower ratings (4-star or less) for instances where the driver did something wrong, like getting lost.
- Passengers can see a driver’s overall star rating, so giving a low rating without reason can impact the driver.
