What is the Max Pickup Filter?

The Max Pickup Filter is a feature released by Moeride that allows drivers to set a maximum distance they are willing to drive to pick up a rider.

How Does it Work?

  • When a driver sets their max pickup distance using the Max Pickup Filter, Moeride will not allow them to accept pickups outside of this distance.
  • If a rider requests a ride and the driver’s current location is more than 3 miles away from the pickup point, the system will automatically set a Long Distance Pickup Charge (LDPC) for the estimated fare.

What is the Long Distance Pickup Charge?

  • The LDPC is an additional fee added to the estimated fare that the rider will see when they request a ride.
  • This charge helps drivers cover their increased costs and time associated with traveling longer distances.

How Do I Use the Max Pickup Filter?

To set your max pickup distance using the Max Pickup Filter:

  • Open the Moeride app
  • Go to the “Settings” or “Profile” tab
  • Scroll down to the “Max Pickup Distance” section
  • Enter the maximum distance you are willing to drive (in miles)
  • Save your changes

Tips and Considerations

  • Setting a lower max pickup distance can help you avoid long-distance pickups and reduce the likelihood of incurring an LDPC.
  • However, setting a higher max pickup distance may allow you to pick up more riders and increase your earning potential.
  • Keep in mind that Moeride’s algorithm will automatically adjust the estimated fare based on the distance and time it takes to complete the ride, including any additional charges.

By using the Max Pickup Filter, drivers can better manage their time and resources while also providing a better experience for riders.
